Birthday Gag Gifts -- Funny Birthday Gifts

The next time a friend or family member or office co-worker's birthday comes up, consider getting said person a funny birthday present. If you give a birthday gag gift to the right person, it will make him or her laugh and keep that celebratory feeling going.

Funny birthday gifts range from the silly to the just plain weird. On the one hand, you have products like the "Bullsh--t Button," which caters to your inner-12-year-old. Then there are things like diapers for squirrels ... which just don't make a whole lotta sense whatsoever.

Of course, if you give a novelty birthday gift, first think about whether the receiver will actually appreciate it. Giving Jingle Jugs to your prim and proper boss. Uh, not a good idea. Nor is it a good idea to give your wife a yodeling pickle in place of the jewelry she wants. Trust me, I repeat: THIS IS A BAAAD IDEA! But, if you have a friend with an odd sense of humor (I have plenty of these) or a co-worker or brother who is always cracking jokes, then a birthday gag gift is just the ticket. You can even give some of the smaller ones out as party favors at your own party!

These unique birthday gifts are almost guaranteed to make a scene. Chances are that no matter what your friend gets for his birthday, it's the gag gift that he'll be talking about.

Doesn't it seem that as the older we get, the more immature we act? I'll admit, I'm guilty of this. Back when I was in high school, my friends and I loved to act oh-so-adult. But now that we're all in our mid-30s, we tend to act more like 13-year-olds!

So if you have someone in your life with a youthful (read: immature) sense of humor, these novelty birthday gifts will be perfect! I can tell you from personal experience that the Jingle Jugs are awesome. I purchased them for a friend this holiday season; they look and feel frighteningly real and are a definite conversation piece. And you can record a message! Is that not perfect, or what?

Fart products are almost guaranteed to make anyone laugh. Try it. If you want to do a test drive, just make a fart sound and people will crack up.

And the whole "Schwetty Balls" schtick has been popular since the sketch first appeared on SNL. Here's golfing's version of it ... guaranteed to make your golf lover smile because it's funny and the balls are high quality. Heh heh. She said balls. Heh heh.

There are just some things in life I don't understand. Like the following novelty gifts, for example.

Okay, so you have a yodeling pickle? Huh? What? WHY? Why would someone come up with this? I mean, yeah, I'm laughing right now, but I'm also confused. Or is that the point...

I'd also like to know who came up with "Pickle-Putt." Seriously, what's the idea with pickles, anyway? Or the Inflatable Toast, for that matter. I'm not kidding -- I wish I could be a fly on the wall for one of these corporate meetings where the company sits around and brainstorms the strangest toys possible. "Well, I've never seen a squirrel wearing baby clothes before or seen a baby collecting nuts, so how about diapers for a squirrel?" If this is what office life is like for these product makes, sign me up!

As odd as these gag gifts are, though, I can't deny that they're definitely funny and I already have a list of people who I'm planning to give them to. I wouldn't recommend giving them as a main gift, because if you give your dad a yodeling pickle, say, he might wonder, "Well, okay, where's the real present?" But if you give one of these inexpensive gifts as a grab bag item for an office birthday party or as an extra little gift, they're sure to make that special someone in your life smile.
